@HolySpiritOCSB@SacredHeartOCSB This is the sign of a wonderful school. When high school grads come back to visit, you can be sure you have done something right and everlasting.
It was a quiet morning in our room today, as the children selected and settled into their play. It reminded me that this is what our ultimate goal is. To have children who are comfortable choosing for themselves, and capable to do so!

@MmeMacPhee @welovecuriosity I have always appreciated the Montessori approach of using real world materials. Such a great way for children to naturally learn how to care for their materials.
Our Ss were eager notice the changes that the storm brought to our yard. We were sad to see one of our beautiful trees gone, but were excited to use some found pieces from a squashed picnic table. It brought a sense of joy after all the chaos.

๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธToday is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. ๐We encourage our #ocsb community to show their support for the LGBTQ2S+ community and continue to foster safe and welcoming spaces for all within our schools. #IDAHOBIT2022#ocsbBeCommunity
Such a great example of the environment acting as the third educator. Our students were confident and capable in their play. What a rich opportunity for authentic documentation of learning.
We just really, really love sand play!
So many opportunities to learn and explore. We saw measurement, turn taking, sharing, collaboration...to name a few. Our mixed selection of materials to use in the sand opens up so many possibilities.

Measurement in kindergarten can look like a lot of different things. Today it was all about measuring how high we can climb the tree. "I went higher than last time!" "I'm very far from the ground."
A healthy dose of risk taking is always fun!

Our grade 6s did such a beautiful job sharing the Stations of the Cross with us. Our kinders were quiet and respectful as they explored each station, and we wrapped it up with a group prayer and reflection.

A little snapshot of outdoor learning today.
Graphing, water play, and cloud dough kept us busy, even as the rain started to sprinkle.
