Today, I'm collaborating with the Geometry teacher on an informative podcast! Students were put into groups, assigned a shape/concept, and then had to demonstrate understanding AND real world application on their very own podcast.

@jjanikis @Newsela They liked it! We have a high Native People population and I think they really enjoyed not just reading from a Native Poet but actually HEARING her speak her poetry.

Yesterday, I helped the Honors English 1 teacher host a big event with @Newsela. Students got to listen to a live interview with Our Lady Joy Harjo. An honor to listen to her, an honor to host, and always an honor to collab with the English department.

A common response after they finish and I help them get their audio files into their Google Drives has been, "hey that was actually really fun. Can we come in and record our own stuff sometimes?"

Did I create 50 of these stickers to give to my AP kids because on the first day of prose analysis I made an example about how you can't just say a book has diction and call it an argument and now they constantly bring it up every time I ask them to make a claim about a text?

@teacherman82 It is EXACTLY THE SAME 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thankfully 99.9% of them are joking and trying to raz me. It's wonderful and horrible all at the same time. And also they actually know how to discuss diction now so I feel okay with it all!
