We had a wonderful day seeing all the animals. Giggling at the monkeys jumping on the bus, watching the lazy lions have a lie down and loving the baby rhino just to name a few.

A perfect way to end a busy year!💜

Today we revisited learning to tell the time! 🕛🕒🕓

We know that when the big hand is at 12 it mean o' clock and the little hand points to the hour of day.

Today we revisited estimating and measuring. We challenged ourselves to balance the scales using different items from around the classroom.

We worked with our friends and were so excited when the scales sat right in the middle!!

Today we were using picture cards to sound out, spell and write CVC words.

We also use our knowledge of letters and common words to help us read our new reading books every week.

This clever pupil impressed us all with his knowledge of numbers today and challenged himself to write every number from 1-100.

Due to a change of timetable at Grangemouth High, our day with the P.E specialist will now be a Wednesday.

Can all children please bring full kit on Wednesday and Thursday.

As it was so hot today the girls decided to create a lemonade stand. I asked them what else they'd need and we chatted about posters, prices & customers!

They designed posters, decided on how much it'd cost then we used our knowledge of money to buy & sell!

⭐Taught Writing ⭐

Every week the children cocreate their writing task with me. This week they asked to continue our paper dolls theme!

Some of the children challenged themselves even more and came up with a second sentence about the picture! 🤩

Block play is all about imagination and expression, and this pair did a brilliant job this afternoon creating their own karaoke system including lap top and microphones. They then treated me to a song of their choice - Yellow Submarine 😊🎶

After reading "The Paper Dolls" by Julia Donaldson the children asked if they could make their own.

They followed instructions carefully on how to fold and cut the paper, then drew and decorated their own dolls.

Every week our Primary 1s get more confident with their writing and this week was possibly our best yet. Some children have been working so hard and were keen to show @MrAWatson their finished work.

Today we did some revision of missing number sequences. We practised counting forwards and backwards to 30 with a song then a few clever children volunteered to demonstrate their knowledge.

There's a QR code on our homework this week to practise the song at home 😊
