@Team_English1 we are looking at reforming our KS3 assessment and reporting. Have any of you got any good models/examples that you wouldn’t mind sharing with me please? Any SLT on here that have implemented the change and can share experiences? Thank you in advance!
It's been a while since I shared anything so here goes...
A series of short 'Do Now' tasks based on exploring multiple interpretations in 'A Christmas Carol'. Instructions are in the PPT... a quick and easy way of exploring different readings of characters and quotations. Use/chuck/change as you see fit! @Team_English1

@C19thNerd@DisneyPlus Gosh I love Station 18 as well! Ended my maternity getting up to the end of Season 2 so ploughing through.
I can’t believe Grey’s Season 20 is nearly here!
@GCSE_Macbeth Usually usually get them to look at the meaning, imagery, tone, structure and language. Start with the title/first line, find the volta, wider message about the world/society. Also get them to look at things literally in terms of narrative, then metaphorically in terms of message
Excellent planning lesson for Gothic setting descriptions with Year 9 today. I used the vocabulary colour code idea from @1991mre and the circle format by @MrsSpalding to get students to consider how powerful language can really be. The darker the colour, the deeper the meaning!
@cmc_crea@Team_English1@LitdriveUK A fantastic school! I did my teacher training placement there 15 years ago. I worked in both the English and Performing Arts departments who were all fabulous.
