First day back after break, students and I discussed what was acceptable and what wasn’t. One student said “even though it’s 2024, we know what to do” — leading to our anchor chart.
Today we finished our chart and got some new stickers as a surprise 🌟🥰
The cutest pumpkins in the patch are in our classroom. 🎃🧡
This months #ClassroomTransformation is all about pumpkins. We started the week strong with some fine motor activities.
Students have really been enjoying our social studies unit on how communication has changed over time. Today I brought in my typewriter and they loved getting to test it out and talk about how things have changed since “the typewriter days”.
This week, we read “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae. Today we made maracas, because you need music to dance. And of course if you have maracas you’ve got to use them for a dance party!
This week we’re focusing on story elements. What better way than with our first #ClassroomTransformation of the year? Students were so excited to come into our fairy tale classroom yesterday 🏰 👑

Today we made friendship bracelets to kick off the 2023-2024 school year! 💕 I hope everyone’s first day was as much fun as ours!

My classroom is as ready as it can be before my kiddos start on Tuesday. ♥️
Year 7, here I come! We’ve got some big plans for this year.

Went a little different with the #AmazonWishList for #clearthelist2023 — it’s all about supporting our monthly classroom transformations this year ✨ My k-5 kiddos LOVE our transformations, and the engagement? 10/10! ✏️💕

My sixth year of teaching officially came to an end today, as we wrapped up a staff only day and moved classrooms. I am so thankful for a wonderful year with our students and a wonderful special programs partner with @Mrs_Shanfelter ❤️ see you in the fall!
I’m not at school today, but that didn’t stop the #VirtualFieldTrip I had planned with my students! Today, we spoke to a 🐴 horse expert 🐴 — my mom. We learned about what horses eat, how to ride horses, and how tall they are!

Overheard this in the classroom today, my students are so kind to each other ♥️🦖
A: Where is the museum? I want to see a real dinosaur!
B: I don’t want to see a dinosaur. I don’t like when they roar at me.
A: It’s ok, it’s just skeletons and bones!
