RESULTS DAY!

Our Year 10 + 11 students collected their GCSE results this morning. It is always lovely to see all the smiley faces, satisfaction and happy surprise!

A lot of hard work has gone into these exams, and we are very proud of every single one of our students.

Llongyfarchiadau / Congratulations to our Positive Performers in Year 7 for this week! Also 7A2 are celebrating being in top spot for Accelerated Reader. They are currently the class who have read the most words out of the whole of KS3!

Order! In the case of which school are South Wales Heat Winners of a MAT Learner Mock Trial, the verdict is... WE ARE!

On Saturday, some of our More Able & Talented learners participated in a mock trial against other schools. Under the guidance of Mr Mcintosh, our pupils won!

We've given out our first Accelerated Reader tokens to use on our Book Vending Machine!
After becoming Word Millionaires, Tyler-Jay Allen (Year 7) and Millie Griffiths (Year 9) each put their token into the machine and chose a book to keep 📚

This morning Year 7 got into true Welsh spirit by singing the National Anthem and Yma o Hyd cheering on Wales ahead of their game against Iran. Pupils and staff belted out both anthems with pride and passion and we certainly billed ourselves as the 'Land of Song' this morning.

I really want to promote reading for pleasure in my classroom. I'm trialling a book match questionnaire to match pupils with their perfect read. So many fantastic YA books to be read! 📚💜

@mrsbgteach It's just a super simple sheet to gauge their hobbies and interests. I've used the info from this sheet and what I already know about the students to pick books I think they'll enjoy.

I am so excited to give the students their match sheets next week! I have been overwhelmed with the amount of requests for questionnaires I've received! I've had to revisit the printer on numerous occasions! 💜📚
