#BEIJING2022
How can #Norway, a country of 5.3 M people – roughly 1/3 the population of Ontario – win 39 medals at the last Winter Olympics?
It starts with a radically different approach to sports based on a concept known as the “Joy of Sport for All.”

Pleased to work with @kgalmac to assess the quality of #schoolyards in Ontario. Research demonstrates schoolyards can contribute to students’ health & learning & support school community connections. The importance of outdoor spaces has never been clearer: https://t.co/FkUxedcrCG
👇HPE teachers please reflect on the varying opportunities for movement during this past year prior to conducting (removing!) fitness testing. Replace with cooperative games or elements of a Physical Literacy program like Passport for Life @PHECanada
I wish every state would eliminate fitness testing requirement. Doesn’t mean teachers could keep some elements they love & that help kids learn.
But taking time at start of school year for fitness testing rather than building community = 😩
Agreed. A “thoughtfully designed; well-supported; providing a variety of options, activities, and play spaces that are inclusive, prosocial, restful, playful, creative, and protected from the effects of social harm” should be a priority of every school. Check out the resources.
Recess is one of the few times in the school day for free play and social interaction without direct adult management. However, Not everyone enjoys recess.
We invited a group of kids to talk about their experiences. It's time that we #talkaboutrecess🤸♀️

The HT Football coaches have been busy building the program this year, hosting a coaching clinic and putting this together. Can’t wait for sports to be back at Trinity and to fill this wall with more Trinity Athletics history.
@MissTuitePE I remembered seeing these a bit ago. I would love to see a picture of them all to put something together for our non participants when needed.
Thank you to @TOwiththeTwins for sharing your sports journalism career journey for #ocsbCareerWeek with my Physical Education classes. A great example of entrepreneurs and women in sport! 🏈
A topic I’ve been reflecting about recently. Changing the school sport environment to encourage greater participation and positive experiences. Interesting!

Committing to the #30x30challenge is a cinch!
To take part, you simply need to make the effort to spend 30 minutes outside in a quality green space every day for 30 days.
It could be a forest, beach, trail, or a park, of course! https://t.co/zPVitfRVlZ
