I know everyone across @fcpsnews is working hard - I do.
BUT.
I feel like there should be a *special* shout out to our amazing #FCPSsbts that are patiently leading us into a whole new world of technology and digital learning.
And the mystery reader was... (drum roll please)... Mrs. Hayes! The class rolled out our “red carpet” for our mystery reader this week. Thank you so much for reading some fun books, especially Secret Pizza Party by Adam Rubin!
Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow tomorrow? 🤔 Most of the second graders at @ViennaES are predicting six more weeks of winter! ❄️ ⛄️ @MrsDempseyVES@MrsMeletti
@Megan_McKenzie8 Would love to learn more about this project. I was just mentioning how I wanted to develope a fun fractions PBL or project into my 2nd grade classroom.
We enjoyed our STEM snowman challenge with our 6th grade buddies from Mrs. Kunkle’s class! The challenge was to build the tallest snowman using marshmallows and toothpicks. @MsKunkleVES
Last week was Inclusion week, our class motto was “Keep it Kind.” We continue the trend as we kick off our countdown to winter break with kindness. Today’s challenge was to smile to atleast 10 different people! Can you meet the challenge? @MrsMeletti@ViennaES @MrsKossoyVES
Thank you to our Mystery reader Mrs. McVey! We enjoyed listening to the story, “The Eleventh Hour.” Thanks for sharing one of your childhood favorites with us!
Happy Halloween! We had fun during this STEM project. The challenge was to build a witches broom that would hold the most amount of candy pumpkins! The “official” winning broom held 9, the unofficial winner held 11! 🎃 #VESisthebest@MrsMeletti@ViennaES
99% of the class was engaged when our mystery reader joined us today. 🤣Thank you Mrs. Cilman for reading Shel Silverstein to us. Our class clearly loved reading Giraffe and a Half TO you. Oh and check out all of our jerseys today for our second spirit day of the year. Go Nats!
We were so lucky to have the author @KathrynOtoshi visit VES today. It was so meaningful to hear the background of how her stories were developed and learn the many different messages her books teach us about kindness and self worth. @MrsMeletti
