It is with heavy hearts we send our condolences to the Beesley family and the @ArvadaPolice Department. Officer Beesley served as School Resource Officer for Oberon Middle School and Excel Academy Charter School for over 10 years as a deeply valued school and community partner.
When you find yourself saying “This is not what I signed up for...” remember this...yes it is, you just didn’t realize it was a part of what you signed up for. Push through the struggles and focus on the students...the true thing you signed up for.
Treat people as if they are doing the very best they can... because often times, they are.

Here are my 4 things for all educators to live by in 2019:
1. Your mental well-being is more important than ANYTHING
2. Talk, share, connect & collaborate
3. Your family is more important than your job
4. You make a difference in the lives of everyone you work with every day
95% of teachers in rural districts don’t make enough salary to meet the cost of living. #YesOnAmendment73 can finally give teachers raises at a time when teacher pay in Colorado is among the worst in the country. Learn more about Amendment 73 here: https://t.co/Hy8f9my5UZ
Five questions for inappropriate behavior:
1. Why do you think that is ok?
2. Where did u learn this (behavior)?
3. Who in your life believes that’s ok?
4. How can you help fix this?
5. What can we/you do differently?
