@Ahmed__Aliyu@ronkecarew It is what it is. Whether for good or for evil. The message is still clear.... A woman must be financially independent. It is as simple as that and it is this that should be focused on..
@Ahmed__Aliyu@ronkecarew I know right, but it doesn't mean you too should respond in such a manner.
With what I have seen all through my life, I will always advise women to be financially independent and I don't think she is projecting any trauma on anyone.
@ronkecarew Lol. I didn't even insult you or disagree, i only said make it more purposeful. Agbalagba niyin, I get your age as aunty. So I wont respond to you in kind.
Pls stop preaching doom to sisters, disguising it as financial freedom.
Stop projecting your divorce & trauma on all women
For the longest time, I thought life would get better after the next milestone.
After medical school.
After housemanship.
After NYSC.
After the next exam.
After the next promotion.
After the next achievement.
Then I came across a concept called destination addiction.
It's the belief that happiness lives somewhere else.
In the next job.
The next relationship.
The next city.
The next milestone.
"When I lose the weight."
"When I get the promotion."
"When I find the right person."
"When I get married"
"When I have kids"
"When I retire"
"Then I'll be happy."
The problem is that "then" keeps moving.
You arrive at one destination and immediately create another.
The goalpost keeps shifting.
Again.
And again.
The answer isn't to stop dreaming or become less ambitious.
It's learning to appreciate your current life while still building your future one.
Because if you don't know how to be present now, there's a good chance you won't know how to be present then.
And that "perfect future" you've been chasing may never arrive, because by the time it arrived, you never really experienced it because you were already looking forward to the next milestone.
Think about it.
@doysol_@ronkecarew But they have to be aware of this reality. It is happening whether we like it or not. We aren't in control of what others will do, but we are in control of teaching our children and this doesn't even stop with the girl child,
