Today is the last student day. I am retiring so this account will be inactive. Teaching gifted kids is the best job in the world and I have truly loved it. #ontothenextadventure
Everyone’s favorite activity - MakerSpace. Check out the #creativity#engineering and #problemsolving while AP works on her dude that doubles as a storage container.
2/2 Second graders are working hard on the review activities - creating art with shaving cream/watercolors, Lego challenge cards, USA research and writing an outlandish spring break story. #engineering#creativity#informationliteracy#communication
1/2 We are practicing organization, prioritization and task completion as we review this week. They have 4 assignments to be done over 3 days - they decide the order they want to do them and sign as each one is complete. #executivefunctioningskills
4th graders are reflecting on their learning and science fair experience by writing evaluative essays titled, “Science Fair: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”.
2/2. The ice resorts are amazing! Hotels, hot tubs, ice slides, ski slopes and skating rinks are just a few of the creative ways we have used the cups, straws, index cards, cotton balls and qtips we bought with our “frozen $”
1/2 We did some research on Ice Hotels and are working in groups to create Ice Resorts. The labor (us) and equipment (tape, scissors and markers) are free but we have to use “frozen $” to buy materials.
4th graders adding pattern (crayons) and color (watercolor paint) to their abstract art pieces. Did they use complementary or analogous colors? #elementsofart
Introducing 3rd graders to abstract art with a children’s book, Matthew’s Dream by Leo Lionni and a Kid’s Art Lesson video about Wassily Kandinsky and his art. We are all (Mrs. P included) learning a lot today.
