Mrs. Popko’s 2021-2022 Kindergarten class

May 15-26 It has been a busy last two weeks. Enjoy taking a look through what we have been up to.

May 1-12 We…learned about frog jump letters, drew a cow using only shapes, worked in our journals, played scooter soccer, completed our top-secret project, and created our own control panels inspired by our Kimochi lessons and the movie ‘Inside Out’.

April 24-28 We…started two new units of study, shapes in math and I belong in social studies. We had to gym in the ‘big’ gym. We also had fun working on making big lines, little lines, big curves, and little curves. These will help us when we start printing uppercase letters.

April 17-21 What a great first week back. We enjoyed some time on the playground, used birdies with the badminton racquets, explored new sight words and learned about the parts of a sentence. Best of all, we spend time with our friends again.

Mar 27-Apr 6 We…learned about letters ‘Yy and Zz’, worked on our badminton skills in gym, explored new math table activities, enjoyed new play centres, and had some Easter fun.

March 21-23 We learned about the letter Xx, worked on our balloon/paddle skills, explored using bills to pay for purchases in the flower shop, took care of some repairs, and hosted families for student led conferences.

March 13-16 We… learned about the letter Ww, showed our creativity during centres, enjoyed a Pancake breakfast hosted by the grade 7 leadership class, worked on our hand eye coordination in gym, and finished the week off creating amazing ‘I am unique’ works of art.
