One of the key changes to our new Language curriculum highlights the role of the library learning commons. As outlined in the new document so perfectly, LLCs and Teacher-Librarians “can help to nurture and develop a love of reading for learning and pleasure, assist students in accessing information and selecting appropriate texts …”
This important change highlights why we must prioritize school library programs. This change happens just as @HWDSB shared the highest circulation among schools in our board - @Bellmoore_HWDSB students borrowed and READ the highest number of books because EVERY student has access to our library learning commons and our collection. May we make this a priority in EVERY school! @oslacouncil@CdnSchoolLibrar #SchoolLibraryJoy #ONSchoolLibraries
One kinder decided to teach a directed drawing with her friends! Such a great moment of play today. They kept the books at school so they can write a story tomorrow 💕
There is something special about making connections with older students. We have been so lucky to have Ms. Gordon’s class as our learning buddies this year. Our big buddies have been helping us with reading, self regulation, making connections and building community 💕💕
