📚 Hundreds of downloadable book extracts - FREE!
✍🏼 Printable author letters, writing challenge videos, authors & illustrators sharing their reading habits & book recommendations - ALL FREE!
Free to use in classrooms. Free to use in assemblies. Free to use in libraries. Free to use at home!!! No passwords needed. No logins required. The whole site will be free and open for anyone to access and I could not be more excited to see children get even closer to their favourite authors & illustrators - and be introduced to some they might not have heard of yet.
📣 Please help us spread the news far and wide. We want as many teachers, librarians, home educators and parents / guardians to hear about it as possible. Do give us a follow on Instagram if you haven’t already (https://t.co/Z7D3ZcsEXw) and we’ll update you with more info at the start of January 2026.
🎉 And do sign up on the GO ALL IN website to register your interest in the National Year of Reading 2026 and receive regular updates on everything they’ve got planned: ➡️ https://t.co/f03gio1wCy. They’ve just launched some brilliant videos explaining the different offers for Early Years, Primary & Secondary settings too - you can find those on YouTube!
I’m very busy behind the scenes preparing to GO ALL IN for the National Year of Reading 2026 (not as busy as the BRILLIANT National Literacy Trust team!) and can’t wait to help (re)connect people of all ages with reading as a meaningful, modern, and social activity.
The ambition is that the National Year of Reading 2026 will make lasting change to the reading habits of the nation to reverse the decline in reading for pleasure and unlock one of the most powerful tools for equity and opportunity: a love of reading that lasts a lifetime ❤️✨📚
My 4 year old drew a picture of @SteveBackshall, which she carries around contantly. I last heard, "Come on Steve Backshall, watch me tidy." Looking forwards to her expression when we go to the Deadly 60 show tomorrow.

@CarlBovisNature My understanding of this was that you have capitals on the parts of the name which indicate the specific species eg. Black Headed gull. Gull is a generic name for a group of animals, but the Black Headed indicates a specific type of gull.
Calling all reading for pleasure enthiasts! I've recently been given reading, as a subject to lead. What are your best ideas and bits of advice, when championing reading, especially in an amazingly diverse school? @jonnybid@OpenUni_RfP
