@vmarieburts @calderonexc Same question. This strategy was introduced to our elementary eld coaches today and it was somewhat confusing because it was introduced as a reading strategy but it's really a language strategy correct? Goal to get students to make the sounds of English/practicing pronunciation
@Teacher_Fulton@leeannjung Inclusion for all should mean that every student gets what they need in an environment that benefits them the most. This one size fits all inclusion model (gen Ed for all) without a continuum of setting/services is detrimental for our most needy students , NT's and teachers.
@SMBSDSupt@SMBSDteach I heard so many positive comments from our new teachers about this learning and coming together as a community. Thanks for all the hard work that everyone put into new teacher week!
Home with COVID watching #Goodbones Risky Business @TwoChicksIndy. Mina is a badass and wow male chauvinism is still going strong. You go girl..keep doing you!
Because I hold high expectations for all students, I also hold infinite hope and understanding as well. All students can succeed. Especially students with unique needs.

This is 47. Still lots of work to do but feeling pretty good in my own skin and I am Blessed beyond measure to have the life I do with those I love in it. https://t.co/HzpsDYykVd
Today while speaking with a student encouraging him to be kinder to himself I quickly realized that I am 47 and still don't possess this skill. #educational#educators#kidsaremirrors
I would love to emplore others. Did you have teachers that only looked like you? Did all the students look and speak the same? How did your experience shape you? Are you more inclined to be open to tough conversations about race, religion if you experienced diversity early on?
I have been resting, recouping, and reflecting this summer. I have especially been reflecting on my own public school experience (which was quite a while ago) and wondering how it helped to shape me..not just as a educator but also as a women, mother, friend, colleague and human.
But in those early years I was so lucky and blessed to have such a range of diverse teachers with different cultures, races, languages. All of these teachers contributed to me wanted to be an educator. Wanting to be an educator that values diversity..to keep working on evolving.
6th grade went to another new school with mostly Hispanic students. From then on didn't have much diversity in my teachers (mostly white) and very few diversity in race and cultures (mostly white and Hispanic demographics).
