Armed Forces Day is about celebrating the entire UK Armed Forces community. 🇬🇧
Every sailor, soldier and aviator.
Every veteran.
Every cadet.
Every family member.
Who has played a part in protecting our nation, and our allies. 🌍
We salute you this #ArmedForcesDay.
@MissGrahamMS@missbeattie20 Sorry for setting everyone off with the tears earlier 😬, such an emotional end of term! You'll be missed Miss Beattie, best of luck in your new post. x
Our Silver DofE group completed their practice expedition this week. Humidity and hills are always a tough combination, but the group showed great resilience and pushed through. Great effort, well done!

“I had so many emotions… I was frightened, I was concerned. You’ve got living people at the other end of the line and they’re in grave danger."
Second World War veteran Marie Scott, a radio operator on D-Day, reflects on hearing the sounds of the Normandy Landings.

Around now, 80 years ago, the first Allied troop convoys begin to leave England’s south coast ports. This is about 24 hours before the first Allied troops will land in Normandy from the sea. Some ships need to set off early due to their slow speed.

@BraesHumanities I'll be taking a few minutes to discuss Operation Overlord with my pupils tomorrow.
Months of strategic planning, logistical preparations, counter-intelligence measures, deception plans, and most importantly, the bravery of everyone involved on DDay.

This is what happened on D-Day in the words of those who were there
Though some are no longer with us, their stories will never be forgotten

S1 RMPS started their Jerusalem Detective lessons today - they are helping Sherlock and Watson investigate who was responsible for the death of Jesus. Imagine my surprise when, for World Book Day, the detectives appeared in class this morning! #rrsa#wbd20@BraesHumanities
S1 RMPS put on their time travelling hats to consider the life of people during the time of Jesus. The 'taste' station was a hit as pupils tried figs, olives and dates to help them fill out their sensory wheel.

Today is #MountainRescueAwarenessDay - please share a post or let your Followers see one of our torch safety graphics. Relying on your phone as a torch can leave you with no battery power to call for help - much better to carry a torch too! #BeAdventureSmart
Huge well done to everyone who passed their expeditions this term! 🥳 Your reports will be uploaded over the next few weeks so all you need to do to finish the award is make sure your other sections are complete. Happy Holidays! @OutdoorBraes@BraesHigh#Article29
Check out the Doddie walk at @Gloagburn farm. A short 1.5km trail following the image of Doddie Weir doing a line out that's been etched into the fields. Donations support @MNDoddie5 and @MNDScotland - there's even a rugby throwing challenge too! 🏉 @BraesRugby#doddiewalk
Wonderfully informative Animal Rights presentations from S2 RMPS classes this morning! Some groups added opinion corners and Blookets to their presentations too - very creative and engaging. Well done! 👏 #Article29#RRSA@BraesHumanities@rmpsbraes@BraesHigh
Day 1 of the assessment expedition done. Hot conditions can be very challenging but the group did so well with lots of sunscreen and water throughout the day, good drills! @BraesHigh@OutdoorBraes
