@carlcyndi5 @MonteSyrie Sometimes it is that “one principal” and is not a district driven initiative. Teachers can and should stand up in either situation with viable evidence as to support their reasons for not wanting to do this/something else.
@EDUwithEmily I do a lot because I want to-I wish other teachers would quit trying to push their “want tos” on others. It creates issues where there should be none.
@Fay28381113@DarkRaph244@LoudGovTeacher Who says this has to after your contractual hours? Can you invite community into your classroom? Go to a student sporting event?
@teachcrap It’s wrong to judge any child’s name. It’s NONE of OUR BUSINESS as to why a child is named their name. RESPECT each student and that family. You can’t clarify your judgment by saying it does not apply in a cultural sense.
@HoyleDoc Thais was commonplace before my time. Older teachers shared how they had multiple offers (on paper) sent to them and they’d look them over and choose. I wonder if there is a place for both options? Some of the interviews seem over the top. What’s best? Happy medium?
@DrP_Principal So this makes all behavior acceptable?
I’m a child of trauma and you’d never know it. This blanket statement does not fit all student or adults.
@EDUwithEmily I would’ve looked into a MSW instead of an early childhood degree. I could do some type of counseling for younger students. In hindsight, my masters degree did not impact me other than a pay increase. I’m very proud of it, but would make another choice knowing what I do now.
@bolanostrio It’s the iPad era-instant gratification and endless “fun” on a screen. Have you seen how students respond when you take away a screen??? The iPad era is arguably the biggest issue in today’s society when it comes to children and their educational challenges.
@CoachLambrechts I took my daughter to an NCAA D3 volleyball championship game of a high school friend. They won it all that day. My advice was the division didn’t matter-find your place! My daughter played D2 soccer and has 2 nattys! Play-find your fit!
@misscasteen@HshsSherwood@ModestTeacher How’s that going to work when “work” requires attendance? My college did take attendance. Being present is impactful. No way around it.
