In class 6 today, the children have had a great day being Egyptians. They have solved Egyptian calculations, written in heiroglyphics and made masks. What a fantastic day!
On Monday, class 6 were talking about growing from young to old. We discussed what changes as we get older and the different life cycles we know. They then drew an older person who is special to them and explained why.
In geography this week, class 6 shared what they know about farming. Then, they wrote down questions they would like to know about Ancient Egypt farming this term.
Today in science, we were observing how whales have adapted to live in a cold climate. We carried out the blubber experiment and the children had a great time.@RockinghamPri
Today, class 6 were very lucky to see the fire truck that visited our school. They learnt what the fire crew wear to protect them and even had a ‘squirt‘ of the hose!

This week, year 2 have been learning addition and subtraction in maths using different methods and strategies. One method, class 6 were amazing at, was compact column method.
Yesterday, the children made fact files about the Sahara and Savannah that can be found in most of Africa. They found out about the weather conditions and what animals lived there. @RockinghamPri
Class 6 had a fantastic time at the Synagogue on Wednesday. They found out about some of the special Jewish artefacts and they got to look around and see where the Torah was kept.

Today in art, the children learnt about, Zenobia Bailey, an American artist. They got to practise some of the stitches she uses in her work. We have some great sewers in Class 6!
Today in PSHE, we looked at our Garden of Dreams and spoke about our dreams and goals. Then in pairs, we created our very own Dream birds. What fantastic birds!
