This week in counseling 3rd-5th, learned how to help themselves during testing if they feel anxious. We focused on using testing strategies, having a positive mindset and quick ways to take a brain break while testing. #ThompsonIsExcellence

From Lunch groups to classroom guidance and more; this year has been a success because of the Thompson team @thompsoncougars and amazing admin @PrincipalRA and @KSanford47! A glimpse of this week, K lunch group practiced buddy breathing and K-2 self-esteem. #ThompsonIsExcellence

K-5 learned how to help themselves when feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Discussed locus of control and using coping strategies to help deal with these emotions. 2nd grade made a self- care wheel and other grade levels played self-care bingo. #ThompsonIsExcellence

A couple of Cougars, have been working with on making new friends. It is heartwarming to seeing how our Cougars are doing so & see each other exhibiting our Cougar character traits! Thompson Cougars are respectful, caring,determined,problem-solving, leaders! #ThompsonIsExcellence

This week during small groups we were discussing what we can control vs. what we cannot control. Love that when I am teaching one second grade group that has dual/bilingual students I can help teach them further knowledge, such as...practice/practicar #ThompsonIsExcellence

It was great to see all our families and students last night for open 🏠 house! Eventhough, I was greeting many students and families in the hallway many stopped by my office/classroom and did some activities left for them. #ThompsonIsExcellence

This week our Cougars have been learning to use respectful and caring communication by using our social filter and T.H.I.N.K before you speak. Today this was very inspiring to me and others...."You are the most pretty, intelligent and loved person ever." #ThompsonIsExcellence

We may have not had enough snow to build a snowman ❄⛄, but our Cougars are able to distinguish good friendship qualities! So @MrsGraceGTE and Ms. Monrads' classes were able to build a FRIEND 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♀️👫during counseling this week!

This week our ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT Cougars collaborated with Sunshine Committee to celebrate and show care for our EXCELLENT staff by writing appreciation notes right on time for Valentines! #ThompsonIsExcellence
