@ethanhein Children are excited to learn play music, I try and teach theory through play to make it more fun, but with constraints of time it's difficult for it to stick, very few are fluent at reading notation by year 9, but are very able at playing by ear.
@ethanhein Then they arrive year 7 only able to have 1 lesson a fortnight this equates to 18, 1 hour lessons a year. Or for some 36 hrs a year if they're lucky to have more curriculum time. That's if an assembly hasn't taken their lesson or drop down days etc.
