We just finished #DogTown by @kaaauthor and absolutely loved it! This group asked if they could work together and write reviews! We used it as a read aloud to model how writing, and developing characters in your stories can leave you “glued to your seat”
Great turnout for our Family Math Night! Our 2nd grade mathematicians impressed families with their thinking, questions, and discourse!

Wow!
I just read an article about new research proving that our brain thinks differently when we type text vs. write long hand.
Different parts of the brain light up, more parts with long hand. This explains why I can sometimes solve writing problems by switching to pen & paper.
Thank you @KateDiCamillo for the opportunity to elicit such great thinking and feelings from my 2nd grade students. Charlie wrote, “ I think the writer is trying to tell us that it’s ok to feel pain from those you’ve loved and lost.” ❤️ @troyschools
@KateDiCamillo the feelings and thinking you elicit from my young readers is priceless. It’s a gift that you give them. My 2nd grader Charlie wrote, “ I think the writer is trying to tell us that it’s ok to to feel the pain of someone you’ve loved and lost.” @troyschools
A great teacher moment when you see your students independently go for the math manipulatives you’ve used for months to problem solve on their own! #transfer#selfdirectedlearners@troyschools
What a great “teacher feeling” when you see two your students working together, using the math manipulatives, the way you taught them, during their free time!
