Today’s resource for students @WyedeanSchool - check out these apps (we already use quite a few!)! Inspired by @ICTEvangelist The Periodic Table of Language Learning Apps - LOTS of apps to help with grammar, vocab, reading, listening & speaking skills! #mfltwitterati 🇪🇸🇫🇷
A year abroad isn't where you learn a language. It's where you live it. Through shared flats, new friendships, cultural surprises & everyday adventures, you gain far more than words: adaptability, confidence, perspective & a home from home. It changed my Spanish, and changed me.
Bad Bunny's superbowl's cultural significance didn't happen by coincidence. The Hispanic unapologetic music scene implies a language, an accent and a whole presence to the world. Our students are lucky to study Spanish, the number 1 language at GCSE and A level in England.
Humanities & sciences are not competitors. One is not intrinsically better than the other. Sciences have a defined range of right answers; humanities are open to creativity & interpretation. Maths & physics fuel innovation; languages & arts feed the soul. There's room for both.
It doesn’t matter where your language story starts. It might be school French, Spanish from a treasured holiday, German because it’s close to English, Welsh, Gaelic or Cornish as part of your heritage, or the challenges of Chinese or Arabic. It's a whole new window on the world.
Check out our extensive guide to foreign language books in French, German and Spanish for GCSE and A Level language students, along with tips to help you get the most out of your reading! 📚

I’ve seen languages open doors, build trust and create moments of genuine human connection that no algorithm could fully understand. Of course, AI has its place, but professional linguists still matter because meaning is human, context is human, and responsibility is human too.

When you speak another person's language, you connect with their heart and soul. You show that you respect their identity and heritage. You're open to their outlooks and traditions. You're not limited to one narrow worldview. You meet other people on their own terms. You thrive.
Here are just 10 of the many reasons why we love language learning at Blue Stamp Travel! 😍

Communicating in another language is exhilarating & transformative. It's a giant leap into another world. It's a new door opening & a window on a different way of life. It transports you beyond your horizons. And best of all - it's open to everyone, wherever your interests lie.
Take an evening class in French or BSL. Revive your school German or Latin. Lift your holiday with some Spanish or Croatian. Take things several steps further with Chinese or Farsi. However you discover another language, you’ll transform your outlook, and expand your world.
Languages don’t just help you speak - they help you understand. They sharpen how you think, deepen your empathy, and open doors across every field and culture. English can take you far, but meeting people in their own language is what truly connects you to their hearts and minds.
Golden, sweet, and soaked in tradition — torrijas are Spain’s answer to indulgence at Easter. Slices of bread softened in milk, dipped in egg, and fried to perfection, then finished with honey or sugar. Have you tried them?🤤

During the speaking mocks, even my best Higher students struggled to keep the conversation going with follow-up questions. I have designed this 'lifeline' card for casual revision: No AI, no pretty pictures, just a list of useful adjectives and phrases.

Teaching a language goes far beyond words. It’s about shaping moments your students will live one day: a conversation in Pristina, a meeting in Bucharest, a laugh at a family table. Years later, those words still travel. And that’s the real reward. https://t.co/Tjm90uUil8...
