It was lovely to be in the same room as you guys yesterday ๐
Sorry I didn't get over to say hello, the morning was jam packed!
This has been our class reader in Y4. We finished it today.
The last chapters were amazing to read & see the class' reactions.
You could hear a pin drop. They cheered and clapped at the end, there were a few tears and cries of "that was amazing", "emotional" and "I cried!" 10/10
Happy new year!
I'm wondering if anyone has come across an adapted/abridged version of Oliver Twist, suitable for Year 4.
I would like a version that doesn't completely change the language of the time (a lot of versions are a little babied) .
It would be great to introduce and discuss this element.
Equally, I would like a version that isn't too hard to understand. The complete, adult classic as written would require a huge amount of vocabulary teaching, particularly as I have a lot of EAL children.
Every time I think I'm finished, I find a little more to add!
Finally ready for September though!
Well, my classroom is, I'm not fully prepared emotionally but we can't have everything!
@philsharrock I resat my maths and biology GCSEs 2 years ago (in my 40s). Very low confidence in maths thanks to my previous gcse experience... It was bloody hard work and I was delighted to get 5s in both. Whatever the score, its just a number and it only marks the beginning of your ventures!
Read and loved BOOKS in search of a new home!๐
Time to recycle some more of my books. Iโd be delighted to donate these to a PRIMARY school. If youโd like to WIN them, please follow & retweet by midnight 17th July โฐ
Iโll pick a ๐ฌ๐งor ๐ฎ๐ชwinner at random & post to you ๐ฎ๐โค๏ธ๐ค๐ค
