Connecting with some of my families today once teacher assignments went out has helped me feel more excited and confident preparing for distance learning. We got this!
I’m done. Virtual teaching is done. The past two days were so nice seeing my kiddos faces and talking with my coworkers, not behind a screen. (Socially distant and in masks). Ready for summer to refresh, decompress,& try to figure out what next year is going to be like in rm 109
I’m also still working on adding diversity to my classroom library for next year. Because there will still be reading and book and the magic that they bring. If you’d like to help me on my mission, click the link https://t.co/rG0hFLjvYy #clearthelist#diversebooks
@AlaneAdamsBooks here’s the “campaign” I’ve been doing on my personal Twitter page to diversify my library (wishlist included). Any help would be so appreciated!
Hey guys! I’m a 4th Grade teacher in Fife looking to add diversity to my classroom library so my students can see themselves in the books they read. Representation matters. If you’d like to donate a book to my class check the list. Also looking for recs! https://t.co/PlK8djTgww
Today is my last real day of distance teaching! Technically we go through Friday but kids are returning their Chromebooks tomorrow & Friday. We get to sit in front of the school and wave at them as they drop off and pick up their belonging. I’m so excited to see their faces!
@AlaneAdamsBooks I’ve been working on this all month! I’ve had several donated and have purchased several. There are still so many on my list! I’ll be the first to admit my class library predominantly features white main characters. I still have work to do! https://t.co/rG0hFLjvYy
Congrats to @fifeHStrojans@TrojanTTV Alonzo Walker & Jade Cupples who won the NW Emmy Award for General News Category with their Brynna Nixon story. First Emmy for FHS since 2013. They competed against hundreds on schools from all over the NW!
