Plant Pals at it again as they work on maintaining our garden so that it is an effective sensory area for our whole school family. Things to touch, smell and taste and lots of opportunities to regulate. Working in our garden makes us feel good too! 🌱👭

We welcomed Sinead McLaughlin from Fresh Minds Education for the graduation of Y3 & Y4 from AMBER approach. Mrs Stuart & Mrs Hudson underwent SUNRISE training which enabled them to deliver this: Building Resilience & Emotional Wellbeing. Well done children and all involved.🥰
Well done to our winners of Sustrans Active School Travel and Clean Air art competition. Donna McFeely (our Active School Travel Officer) visited school to present the winners their prizes- goodie bags filled with lots of exciting prizes. Keep up the active travel!

A very busy Walking Bus on Friday morning. Such a positive way to start the day as our children and families could be heard chatting and laughing as they made their way to school together. Good for the body, mind and environment! 🥰

Teacher Swop time! We love a Friday in NRStP, especially when there is Teacher Swop involved! The boys and girls were bouncing with excitement to find out which teacher was coming to their class to play mental maths games- building skills and relationships! 💙💚
Look at these Literacy legends in Years 4-7 who were presented with prizes for the highest achievements in their groups in AR and overall biggest achievement in class. Lots of half millionaires and millionaires in AR too! 🤩

We had such good fun welcoming our visitors to our first ever Winter Warmer session for preschoolers and toddlers and their families.
There were stories, dancing, songs and treats.
Thank you for coming along! You certainly made our Winter warmer!

Dragons Love Tacos and so do Year 3! 🌮 Lots of learning through story as children planned a taco party by creating invitations, lists of ingredients, and instructions. Lovely to see real ingredients as stimulus for writing. I’m sure a few items were sampled too!

A fabulous day for our school as we were joined by Peter Hutchinson @Education_NI and @lucy_crehan, expert in school curriculum planning, who has been commissioned to carry out a review of NI Curriculum design and delivery. An honour and as usual our children made us so proud!🥰
Lights, camera and action at Drama Club today! 🎥 The children were so excited to explore scripts and get into character. Lots of learning even after school! 🤩

Positive vibes in Year 3 as the weekly well-being session was based around gratitude and thinking of all the good things in our lives. Time to reflect and be thankful and share what we are thankful for with friends. Confidence and relationship building too! 🥰

When a NRStP family deliver the goods over half term! Barry Diamond, dad to Fionn and Oisin, worked so hard to kit out our new polytunnel. Think the boys & Granda Liam lent a hand, too! Massive thanks - Mrs Stuart has sooooo many plans already! #NRStPfamily 💙💚 @Eco_SchoolsNI
A great week to begin the AMBER approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing as we also marked World Mental Health Day on Thursday. The children in Year 3 were so excited to meet their new friends Amber and Bamber, who will help support their wellbeing! 🐾

Year 3 loved exploring the school environment to estimate lengths. They put their guesses to the test by measuring using non-standards units. Lots of comparative language developed as well as thinking skills. Hard at work! 📏

Lots of learning in Year 3 this week as the children explored Fair Trade as part of Good Relations Week. Respecting the community locally and globally! A little cup of Fair Trade coffee squeezed in for Mrs Stuart too! ☕️
