We are so thankful for the 8th grade student council members coming to talk to our 5th grade classes today! It was SO great to see our past students. 💜 A couple of them really outgrew me in just three years!

My students got to showcase their Rube Goldberg machine at the University of Illinois Engineering Open House today, which is an honor alone, but they even walked away with a pretty big award! I’m so proud of how hard they work to get here! #eoh #eitc

Thank you MAEF for funding my grant for Oculus Quest VR headsets for the classroom. Today we were able to soar through our Solar System learning about the sun and each planet. Next stop…the constellations! #GoSages

When it’s been a bit of a rough day but then a parent messages you saying this is the first time in a year their child hasn’t cried over math homework because they love your class, you are reminded why you love what you do!

The best way to reinforce the importance of place value and the value of digits? MONEY (even if it included fake thousand dollar snd million dollar bills)! We ended up with a couple millionaires today. #gosages

We had the best first day in fifth grade! It flew by with fun and to top it off, our class currently holds the spirit stick from our back to school assembly! I hope their excitement and school spirit only continue to grow this year and we win it many more times! #gosages

We rolled out the red carpet in 5th grade this morning! It was so nice to be joined by such Hollywood stars, celebrities, athletes, and historical figures!

Proud of these boys & my 5th graders already look up to and love them. When Trevor and Ben responded to their good luck emails, you would have thought they were major celebrities, and when I said Trevor lived one house away from me, you would have thought I was a celebrity too!
