20ish years ago I thought I'd rather like to be a teacher. I didn't. I fell into something else and before I knew it I was 40 with 2 kids and a mortgage.
I have passed my PGCE with distinction, and have been recommended for QTS.

Told y9 of my catastrophe this morning which saw an entire travel mug's worth of coffee leak into my bag. The only thing to survive was my copy of Macbeth. They felt this was A Sign and I clearly am close to the witches with my supernatural powers.
Practical advice needed! I'm trying to use a visualiser in lessons but I'm left handed and cover my writing! Obviously my class cannot see what I write as a write. Writing with my right hand isn't an option. Help! #edutwitter
Needed to quickly check a quote for an AIC retrieval so found an online full text version (too lazy to find my own copy in my house!). Some autocorrect/spell check had changed Goole to Google. This amused me WAY more than it should have done.
Afternoon #edutwitter. Trying to do some of my #pgce assignment and wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of what an ambitious curriculum actually is?
Back at my first placement this week. To be greeted this morning by a student running toward me yelling "MRS TAYLOR - YOU'RE BACK!!!!" was the best start to Wednesday. #pgce
How times have changed.
In my former career as a librarian I spent years, YEARS, telling students not to use ResearchGate. As a time-poor student I find myself supplementing my uni library's (excellent) resources with, yes you've guessed it, ResearchGate 🤣
Conflated my Williams today. Trying to write a model paragraph on William BLAKE'S Chimney Sweeper and referred to the author as GOLDING throughout. Mercifully realised before I sent it to the teacher. It's a good job I'm not currently teaching Shakespeare...
Light relief can be found in the most unlikely of circumstances. Today, it was the robot-voiced spam call to tell my NI no. has been suspended and a warrant is out for my arrest. I mean, my assignment is shaping up to be quite terrible but I'm not sure it's THAT bad!
@englishspecial I feel like I've lurched through this placement 🤣 I've got to deliver a presentation as part of an assignment on 1 April and so far it's a series of blank slides and vague intentions.
It's March. PGCE ongoing. Currently flip-flopping between elation and absolute despair with a whole lot of exhilaration and exhaustion thrown into the mix. Normal, right? #edutwitter#pgce
And it's my birthday tomorrow and although there's no need to celebrate per se (43 - meh) I'd like to not have to spend the day planning/doing my assignment. Not going to happen though! Ah well - such is (middle aged trainee teacher) life.
