Today we had math outside of the classroom! We took a math gallery walk to solve word problems with converting customary and metric units. @IslandtreesMMS
5th grade is learning about Time Zones!! We called my friend who lives in London and Mrs. Talib’s sister who lives in Bangladesh to see if our times of day were different. Our time was 9:20am. Do you know what the time was in these other places? @IslandtreesMMS
We had a great trip last week to the Fish Hatchery! We identified different organisms, took a hike through the woods, and got a tour of the facilities. @IslandtreesMMS
Chemistry lights up our lives! In science we were able to test different materials for electrical conductivity. Did you know that most metals and salt water are conductors and provided electricity?! @IslandtreesMMS 💡⚡️⚡️
Are you taller than a 5th grader? We used our knowledge of line plots to organize our data. Each 5th grade student measured themselves and plotted their height on the chart. Where would you measure up on our line plot?@IslandtreesMMS@BethRoemerIT
We had a blast on our field trip to the Bellmore Theater to see “She Persisted!” A BIG thank you goes out to Mrs. Gonzalez for planing a great day! @IslandtreesMMS@BethRoemerIT
