The excellent P2/1 at Whitecross have been developing their instrument playing and handling skills. Today they used the woodblock and body percussion to keep the beat. They found it trickier with a woodblock than with the maracas but they enjoyed the challenge 👏

The talented P5/6/7 at Whitecross are learning all about Delia Derbyshire's groundbreaking Dr Who theme tune. Today we explored the bass line and used our own 'found sounds' to replicate it. Such creativity ❤️ I can't wait to continue this project with them 😄 @MrsThomsonWPS

Pupils in @whitecrossp3_4 have enjoyed learning the Mexican sword dance 'Los Machetes' over the last few weeks. Lots of concentration required for the movement and rhythm. They were enjoying themselves so much they didn't notice how hard they were working 👏⚔️🎶

@Laurieston_P5 learned a bit about the life of Mozart this afternoon. They then played percussion along to Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Excellent concentration, playing and score reading by every single person in the class.

@whitecrossp3_4 really enjoyed listening to Leroy Anderson's "The Waltzing Cat" this afternoon. Some of the boys and girls then tried to dance and waltz like a cat on all fours. It was tricky to do but fun to try 😄🐈🐾🎶

@LauriestonP6a enjoyed using their new @ConnectedFalk ipads in their music lesson yesterday. We listened to the Livery Stable Blues and then gave feedback using mentimeter.

@LauriestonP2 enjoyed trying the Hand Clap Rap in their music lesson today. They were listening and concentrating on the rhythms so they could clap them back correctly. Some rhythms were quite tricky but they managed them all. Well done P2 👍👏🎵

It was lovely to meet @WestquarterP1Q and @P1WMrsCassells properly this morning.
Both classes sung very well and showed me some excellent dance moves 💃

@LauriestonP6_T have been working very hard on their tuned percussion skills. They have been learning to read notated music and have established an excellent playing technique. They were rewarded today with some games and fun on the glocks. Well done P6 👏🎶
