This year, we used “lucky ducks” in our class. Each s had 2 ducks in the jar with their line order # on them. We used them to pick jobs and volunteers. However, I actually turned out to be the “luckiest duck” of all because I got to be their teacher. I will miss this crew! 🥹❤️
To close our fiction unit, Ss began presenting their fiction book reports today! Each picked a book & focused on all of the different story elements that we learned throughout our unit. I’m so proud of them for all of their hard work! 👏🏼 Now, on to my favorite… NONFICTION! 🚀
During our extra period today, Ss spent some time outside in the snow doing #snowdaymath. They practiced their ✖️ & ➗. They really SNOW their math facts! 😅💪🏼🧠
Teachers, to start off 2022, I'm offering two free 30-minute virtual appearances. I can talk about writing, share a preview of I Survived in progress, or whatever you would like. No limit to the number of students, can do grades 3-8. RT to enter. I will notify winners 1/10.
Yesterday in reading, we started learning about character traits. As an entrance ticket in our “parking lot”, Ss had to come up with 2 character traits that they would use to describe themselves as the main character in their own life stories 📖
We did a mini lesson today on voting in honor of #ElectionDay2021. Ss got to cast ballots on a name for our stuffed animal class pet. It was a close race, but Cotton beat the other contenders by 2 points!
Today, students wrote about their ideas for my Halloween costume! There were just so many creative ones that they came up with… I can’t wait for them to see what I’ve picked 🤩🤫
Ss started learning about the different ways to represent multiplication! So far, we’ve learned how to create equal groups, use repeated addition, and skip count on number lines to solve✖️equations. 💪🏼🧠
