We can’t believe all the things our 2022 #Teacher #Externs have learned this week! We’ve visited #supplychain, #manufacturing, #healthcare, and #construction companies in #RutherfordCounty and heard about dozens of careers available to students!

Ryan Otter from @mtsudatascience joined us today and gave an amazing talk about the wide variety of career opportunities and applications inside the field of Data Science.

Our second session of the day was hosted by the wonderful @smyrnaairport team. Externs toured a hangar, learned about airport history, stats and growth plans. They (of course) also learned about the workforce needs within the industry & a few ways students can enter the field. ✈️

The #rutherfordcounty Teacher #Externs are receiving a blueprint of the qualities & skills employers look for in the #Construction industry. They’ve learned about #SkilledTrades, degrees, and how students can enter the field!

Our #externs had their first field trips today! The visit to @ascenstthomas Rutherford was so informative! #Teachers met & chatted with staff from several departments. #Educators learned about staff careers, education, and background, plus how interconnected each role is.

Today we launched our 2022 Teacher Externship program. Thanks to the @MotlowState & @MotlowTrained teams for hosting the first half of our teacher orientation day & giving our “students” a campus tour. @RuCoCTE & @You_Science gave great presentations to kick off our day!
