We kicked off our science unit (animals and offspring) with a few fluffy visitors in 1st grade @BigTreeElem. It was such a fun morning!

This egg has really improved effort and focus during i-ready lessons/practice this past week. When students master a lesson, they color a "piece". If we can fill the egg, everyone gets a candy peep (their prize choice by vote).

We're ready to add 3 numbers (by making a 10 first)! First, we warmed up our math brains with an egg hunt to match pairs that make 10!

We ended Read Across America/Dr Seuss week with a "green eggs and ham" pj breakfast!

I have a student who was getting really nervous/upset during our fact fluency "quizzes". A friend who sits in front of her made her this to read to herself a few weeks ago. She takes it out of her pencil box every.single.time and puts it on her desk. 🥰

My 1st graders got to preview Beauty & the Beast at the high school today. They were SO excited to see my Justin on stage and asked if we could go again tomorrow...it's *that* good.

SO much hard work went into our nonfiction writing project. Today we went outside and moved like real penguins in the snow. Watch us waddle and toboggan (slide on our bellies)!
