Yesterday instead of Valentine’s boxes my sweet #1stgraders decorated bags. One side was decorated however they wanted & the other was decorated by their peers. I was so impressed with how intentional they were with what they chose to say about their classmates ❤️ @GallberryFarm
My #firstgraders@GallberryFarm have been learning about making predictions. After a discussion about #GroundhogDay2023 we made a prediction about whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow. Looks like 6 more weeks of winter for us! 🥶
It’s ALMOST winter break. We are so close and we are TIRED. But can we please just admire this awesome writing that my (also exhausted) #firstgraders worked so hard on today?! I am SO proud of their progress this year! @GallberryFarm#teachersoftwitter#polarexpress
Just met a “retired a long time ago” reading teacher. I asked for her best tip for encouraging kids to read.
“Well,” she says, “I had a big, burly guy carry a claw foot bathtub into my classroom and declared it the Reading Tub. After that, kids fought to climb in & read.” 🛁 📚
Sitting in the @Starbucks line this morning remembering that time my previous Assistant Principal @MrsBlueRRES ran up and tossed a gift card in my window 😂❤️ Thank you for the laugh and for making me feel loved!
@edutopia 1st grade here. I start the morning greeting at the door. My goal is to greet each student there. If a student needs my help with something then I come into the room- but I always get back to the door as soon as I can.
Today my firsties and I celebrated #InternationalDotDay. We made dot headbands, collaborated to make our own giant dots, got special Dot Day bookmarks, & used extra tasty dots to practice fluency with teen numbers. @GallberryFarm @peterhreynolds #MakeYourMark#teachersoftwitter
