Highlight of my week: Leading a focus group of 3rd-5th graders in the creation of a student resource which will be used to align our analysis of informational text. They even wanted to create a song to accompany our graphic organizer! #proud@TheissKISD@KISD_Literacy@KleinISD
So many funny (& shocked!) responses during our interactive social studies activity about taxation without representation. Students learned what it feels like to be forced to pay taxes & not have a voice in their government. #skittles#taxation@TheissKISD@KleinISD
My teacher heart beams when my students embrace @TheissKISD core values. Today, six students nominated classmates for our homeroom’s next star student. They boldly stood before their peers to share how their nominee exemplified #respect throughout the week. @KleinISD#PBIS#magic
5th graders @TheissKISD deepened their thinking by examining character relationships & motivations as they “stepped” into the mind of each character!
Big kids @TheissKISD had fun strengthening their fluency by playing a game to identify open & closed syllables. Studying syllabication & morphology opens up world of reading! @KleinISD
@TheissKISD teachers are lucky to be loved on by our incredible math & reading instructional specialists! They pour into us constantly, and it feels awesome to be appreciated. We are grateful for you @MrsSlaydon & Megan Herbein! 💗🍩 #wholeperson#invest

Fifth graders @TheissKISD embraced growth mindset as they illustrated their journey through the “learning pit” and shared how they have overcome challenges! @KleinISD
It’s possible to show up for work and be adequate. Those employees still collect a paycheck. But I have a profound appreciation for those who don’t settle for “adequate.” They make the decision to be awesome. They probably wouldn’t call it that, but I would...and I salute them.
