Looking at this drone footage from Nebraska, you can literally see the interior closet left standing. The community response was incredible, with first responders showing up almost immediately, but this is exactly why sheltering fast matters.

I remember well the 1994 ice storm here in north Mississippi. It’s was horrible and deadly for 9 people. Praying for anyone in the path of this weather event and for the lineman and first responders that will meet it head on 🙏.

@RuthSevereWx Our home is on crawl space. Have closet under stairs in garage, but is near garage door. With open concept, bathrooms have outside walls & only one has no windows. Closets are standard bedroom closets w/ bifold doors & face windows. Other closets too small. Which is safest?
