Some adults in school are really good at pouring gasoline on a little tiny fire. I’m not saying the kid isn’t at fault, disrespectful, rude, etc... I’m simply asking do you pour gasoline or water? Goal=defuse. Every time. #thatonkid
I prefer Expectations instead of Rules. Expectations tell what to do (be on time). Rules tell what not to do (don’t be late). Expectations should be specific & tied to values. Values tell why the expectation exists. What are ur classroom values?

A kid “taking it out on me” doesn’t mean it’s actually about me. Raise your hand (or retweet) if you frequently take out ur biggest annoyances aggravations & frustrations on people u actually love & care about most. Kids do the same. Embrace it. #thatonekid#hope#kidsdeserveit
