Today is big for a multitude of reasons but as a little girl who dreamed of becoming First Woman President, today feels personal! @KamalaHarris#FirstFemaleVP
If you ever think about skipping that poetry unit (that often comes at the end of the year)... DON’T... Poetry like lyrics is such a window into someone’s soul. @taylorswift13 reminds me of that again this morning! #literarygenius
This week has reminded me in so many ways why this career chose me. Chats with old students about their future and goals... relationships first because they go beyond the single year 🥰 kids know when you believe in them ❤️ #lakeland12
Sleepless night thinking about students & numbers. As a kid I was labeled gifted but couldn’t score high on standardized tests. That anxiety & fear has followed me through my whole academic career. School can leave scars. #kidsaremorethannumbers#relationshipsfirst#wholechild
This morning ☀️ was such a good reminder that every student 👩🎓 deserves at least one adult in their school to know them and know them well. Not just know their name but truly know them! #relationshipsfirst
Our literacy team has worked hard to continue to celebrate our Lakeland “Lit” 🔥 Leaders. New Lakeland Swag and hand written notes from their teachers 😍 kids deserve to feel seen, heard and to be celebrated everyday but especially now!! @BaltCitySchools#lakeland12#litleaders
Some teachers forgot to be pro-teacher. Bitmoji Class is your thing? Do it. Minimalist is your style? Amazing. Want to be in person? Me too. Afraid of covid still? Same. If you’re in this to advocate for & educate children, I’m on your team. I will not push my own agenda on you.
As we continue to look at standards in @unboundedu summit, I am so thankful to have had a leader/teacher/ friend who empowered me to dive into and use the standards actively in my teaching @cmbradybrooks Going to miss you this year but excited to continue the work 🥰
Day one of @unboundedu summit has me reflecting and shifting my mindset. The onus needs to be on educators. What unconscious biases are we holding onto? Can’t wait to start telling asset based stories about our students this Fall. #growth#change#knowledge#lakeland12
So @LakelandSchool we have been doing a library Renovation project and putting final touches has been a process but MsChester kept the ball moving with our new lion mural Wow is all I have to say after walking in to this surprise!

Let’s get their minds right and ready for a year of awesome, love and growth! Keep your disgruntled feelings away from them. Share only positivity and watch them shine!
As an educator, I feel, as adults, there is only one role we all have to play right now. Whether you agree or disagree with virtual learning, it is now time to get our kids pumped about it! They are looking at us for what to feel and think.
I just want to take a moment to say loudly and clearly-Special area teachers are teachers. Our related arts courses are often the reason many students want to come to school.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but teachers are not babysitters.
Also, being expected to risk their health and the health of their families should come with hazard pay, not budget cuts.
