@techtomentor I had a student back in 2008 make a presentation on having a 4 day school week. I saved it somewhere but can’t find it, but it was awesome and she made valid points as a 6th grader.
@RdngTeach @ChristieNold I just said this! Principals are holding a lot of power as it relates to teacher growth. Those recommendations definitely impact decisions. It’s like they forget that someone gave them a chance too when they had no experience. I can show you better than I can tell u!
@AlishaTeaches@ChristieNold Exactly what’s happening but someone explained to me as the squeaky wheel gets the oil! Now I am squeaking, let’s see if I get some oil!
@ChristieNold Oh yeah and not to mention hiring retirees over qualified candidates. Does that mean you are spending more to cover their salaries than would be spent hiring someone with no experience?
@ChristieNold I have been told that a few times or that I am not ready. This all about who you know and holding positions and doing favors has got to stop. I am on year 21 and considering leaving a profession that I am very passionate about because advancement seems impossible.
@MsFernandezSPED I had a student in my 3rd yr of teaching 6th grade in my district create a PowerPoint presentation about having a 4day school week and it was quite impressive and thought out. Hmmmm…
This year has been full of lessons. I am so sick and tired of lack of growth in my profession so I decided to open doors for myself. Introducing Mrs. Hall, the new Keller Williams real estate agent! Watch out there now!
