A2 - My favorite account to follow is @DitchThatTxtbk. They provide so many resources and opportunities for professional learning (many of which are free!) that I have found to be helpful as both a teacher and teacher-leader. #eme6425
@jameskroll @LennyDutton @sjtylr@Larryferlazzo@AllYallEdu @michelestork Thank you for sharing these accounts! I am particularly drawn to @AllYallEdu so that as I continue to build my PLN, I keep in mind the need for equity and justice to be built into the framework of any digital technology changes made in a school.
As I progress through this program, I will not only connect with ELs in my state but actively seek out ELs in other locations with the hope of expanding my own PLN. 3/3 #eme6425
A1 - I will use this platform to access to the wisdom of educational leaders from all over the world. This will allow me to gain professional advice and experience that I would not otherwise be able to do in just a single building. 1/3 #eme6425
Being able to connect with ELs from different backgrounds, divisions, and cultures offers me a chance to expand my repertoire of skills and understanding of what it means to be an EL. 2/3 #eme6425
@MeadorSteffen@teacher2teacher@zearned@traciteacher @michelestork Hi Katie, I, too, find myself using FB more than twitter. There are so many specific teaching groups I can be apart of, & I find that my questions & responses don't get lost as quickly. I am working on coming back here though, so I hope you've found some success too! #eme6425
@TonyReali I don't know if you remember this thread, but I wanted to let you know that your show has been one of the few comforts my son has enjoyed during the witching hours (and sometimes dinner) for the past 16 months.
@TonyReali, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the time you took to address the harassment a female reporter faced by the Mets GM. (I wish I could say her name, but will not say his.) I am currently seven months pregnant and find one of the most sacred "nesting acts"...
Hey @VoiceOfOBrien, @Redondoma bought our LO a D20 to roll for Adventures in Toddlerhood. For how many "laps" in the box he could take, he rolled a natural 1. He is technically a halfling, so I insisted he roll again. His second roll was an 18, & now we are exhausted. ๐ฅด #worthit
Kids want to tell you about their lives.
They really do. Like, really. They want you to listen, to take interest, and to make comments about what they say. Do that. #RelationshipsMatter
@TeachMrReed I now wear clothing for a minimum of 24 hours at a time, and the window to change those clothes is no longer automatically in the morning. [These guidelines are subject to change without notice or justification.] ๐ค
I've been a mother for nineteen days. Today is the first day I've used this mug since my metamorphosis, and I must admit I love the shift in meaning it has taken. Instead of serving as a sassy retort in class, it now provides me the strength and comfort I need on tough days. ๐
...for our whole-class study of Hawthorne. I've had the pleasure of knowing them for nearly three years, so to watch them grow from shy, unsure freshmen, to these radiant junior adults full of opinions and creativity bursting at the seams is truly a treasure for me as a teacher.
I'm spending the early hours of the afternoon reveling in the amazing work my junior scholars did for their Transcendental projects last month. It has been a tough few weeks pregnancy-wise, so grading has taken a spot on the back burner for this group in order to save energy...
At nine months pregnant, I started my day seated in a circle with a group of sophomores and juniors while we dropped everything and read. Scholars read Hawthorne, Achebe, Wilde, and Lo for fun and for school while I opted for an exercise in unlearning what I thought I knew.โ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๐
We wanted to take a moment and thank the students attending The Village School in North Naples. The Collier County Sheriffโs Office received more than 60 thank-you notes addressed to our officers on Monday.
@73Newport@NicholasFerroni Curious about the student population in AB. How many kids are in a class, on average? What are the socioeconomic statuses? Are there many ELLs? How many preps do teachers have? These are the hurdles many teachers in the US face to "substantially improving achievement results."
