A5: I think it is also important to support the child emotionally when they have not met the standard. This may be a new feeling for them and something they can really struggle with. I love your ideas about learning styles! #ashleyelemchat
@SaraMcNeal I know!! My brain is still trying to get it all together! I know its possible but, logistically how? We do this for I and E, just trying to figure it for day to day in regular classroom
A4: Real life situations (thinking like a math teacher) are something my kids love if they already have the TEK down. Like budgeting on a fixed income to design a business. My students also love when I let them develop the problems for mini lessons. #ashleyelemchat
@thechicteacher soo true! When I ask them to slow down and tell me step- by- step they struggle. The skills come easily to them so I love to ask my gifted kids "why?"
A3: I like to do open ended questions with not just one "right" answer and questions that ask to "explain your thinking" for my gifted students. This lets me see deeper than just bare minimum memorized facts. #ashleyelemchat
A2: Some of my gifted learners need help working in collaborative groups (social) because their minds move fast and different than others. On the other hand, some Ss love to be able to explain the way they solved the problem in "their" way

A1: I believe the gifted learner is the child that asks the deeper questions not just knows the answer. Also has a high drive for inquiry and asks Why and How
