Having assessments can be daunting and overwhelming but I truly enjoyed the way we did it this semester in #CEP813. I liked reading about the ungraded policy and having more control over my learning. I was still held accountable but I was being pushed and helped along the way.

This image was very powerful to me. After reading all about inequity in our assessments, reading #4 really made me wonder what if stopped and found a different way. Inequity is an issue in every class even when we try our hardest and we need to do better. #CEP813

As I reflect on this week's reading, I think back to different questions that call for certain basic background knowledge that Ss sometimes don't have to understand. This is frustrating to deal with on simple things but to have tests affecting your future is unfair #CEP813

After reflecting this week on privacy and assessments. I am making sure I am being mindful of the tools I am using with my Ss. I feel I can still achieve quality assessments with this in mind. #CEP813

Ss should feel like they are prepared and knowledgeable enough to not cheat on the test. I think with Ss being at home this year and having answers at their fingertips it is on us to teach them why it is important not to cheat and why they should know this information. #CEP813

I think it is important to give your Ss opportunities to practice skills in a low-stakes opportunity. This way you are aware of how Ss are doing and can adjust. If you just give the assessment chances of them cheating will be higher. #CEP813

be used when there is a clear right and wrong answer. When you can dispute or argue the point, you should not use a multiple-choice question. #CEP813

I personally liked Quiz A better because I was able to give my answer and give reasoning and support my answer. I didn't like the small answer boxes. It was hard for me to go back and read my work. Quiz B was tricky because some of the questions did not warrant a simple #CEP813

true or false answer. You needed to be able to talk in more detail about the question asked. I did like that Quiz B gave feedback after so I could see right away how I did. I think you need to be careful about how you use different questions. Multiple choice should only #CEP813

I explored Edmodo and I liked the variety of tools it offers you and the students. With assessments, there were multiple additions you could add to the quiz which would help with feedback. You also had a wide range of question types you could ask. #CEP813

You are limited in how you can show or communicate. This can hinder the students on assessments. I found math to be one of the hardest to assess virtually this year. #CEP813

Online learning can offer great freedom and opportunity but can also create disadvantages. One disadvantage with learning is what tool you are using. Sometimes the tool works against what you or the Ss are trying to do. #MAET #CEP813

Ss need to be taught how to use these digital tools responsibly. Teachers need to make sure they are using these tools in a relevant manner so students create an appropriate digital footprint. #CEP813

Digital tools and assessments can work hand and hand and aid your Ss. They give you the opportunity to track Ss progression, create creativity, and have different aids for your Ss. This is a strong tool but Ss need to know how to use these tools in an appropriate manner #CEP813
