@AULCharter do you have a make up date for the SATs that were cancelled yesterday (08/29) at your school? @CollegeBoard doesn't have any information. Thank you.
@RutgersAltRoute A5; For next year, I'll make sure to communicate more with parents. Including them and letting them know that HIB will not be tolerated is imperative for the safety and well being of our students. #AltRtEd#Standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A4; A challenge we face, is trying to help emotionally distressed and unfocused students due to HIB. Learning opportunity is having an open conversation about equality, acceptance and compassion. Prosocial behaviors that might not be discussed at home #AltRtEd#Standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A3; If I see or know of any situation that might be considered HIB, I bring this up, first with the student/s separately, then the parents and guidance counselors.
#AltRtEd#Standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A2; To minimize the factors that could create a hostile environment, I would create a safe environment where students can talk and be heard, and not allow any disrespect among the students.#AltRtEd#Standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A1; I try to create a safe environment for all my students, by treating them equally and not allowing any form of disrespect. #AltRtEd#Standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A4: My preferred method of communication with parents is email and Remind 101. Adjustments I would like to make are to incorporate more video conferences with parents. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A4: One huge benefits is being able to communicate with a wider knowledge base. One challenge might be sorting through too much information. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A3: As a new teacher, I like to discuss or “run-by” ideas with other teachers in my department and other subjects. I do see the importance of joining a PLN and having access to communicate, collaborate and contribute with other teachers outside of my school. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A2: I believe the biggest barrier is that some students might not have readily available access to the internet at home. Also, we have to keep a watchful eye on what students are searching and their interactions in different social media platforms. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A1: In our classroom we use technology every day, students feel comfortable use it. Be it by Google classroom, online textbooks or doing internet research. In today’s world it would be a disservice to our students to not integrate technology. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A6; I believe I need to uncover the reason for misbehavior, practice planned ignoring and never forget to give positive reinforcement. #AltRtEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4 I’m a dance teacher so I feel like a movement class is always beneficial to my students with ADHD. I know what to embrace when they get to be a little too much and then I know how to reel them back in. We just go back to breathing exercises. It works! #AltRtEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A5; All his tips were great. I will definitely try to incorporate his tips on organization: creating checklist and using graphic organizers. Also, hit tip on having some toys available for fidgeting. #AltRtEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4; Some strategies I already implement are: preferential seating, writing directions on the board and "chunking" the directions. #altRtEd#SpEd
personal relationships are key. This is becoming even more evident in remote learning .Those Students who have connected with Ts will operate better in this wacky environment #AltRtEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3; We can create opportunities for them by connecting with them and letting know that we are on their team. Communication is key. #AltRtEd#SpEd
