The A List started when I was researching English speaking Asian Actors for JIN. I'm at 398 names - let's keep going! https://t.co/pmY7v9HTA8 #representationmatters
@CdubBabyShooter I can’t speak for Hiroshima, but growing up in Osaka, I’d say Osaka people, especially “obachan”, (=middle-aged women like me!) have a rep for being “in your face” sometimes. Also, there’s a lot more foreigners living in Tokyo and Kyoto, so they might have assumed you lived there
If the other person is better at speaking in English than in Japanese, I’d speak in English because it’s easier for both of us. Language is a tool of communication. It’s just a matter of efficiency. Of course happy to speak in Japanese if they want to practice with a native.
What’s your opinion? Should Japanese people assume foreigners speak Japanese if they see them in Japan, or is it nicer if they try to speak to them in English first.
I divided the answers into people who speak Japanese and those that don’t.
So my views on games are purely based on watching @CheapyD playing. Would anyone be interested in hearing about other games? I can base my reviews on:
- the time I spent on looking at my phone instead
- whether it gives me motion sickness
- if I ban @CheapyD from playing w/o me
I rarely tweet and even when I do, it’s not about games but A Plague Tale: Innocence prompted me to do just that. What an eye candy and unique and engaging story-telling and ambiance. Thought the game could be a bit grim but we thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 chapters last night.

@james_riney Perhaps you could write your tweet in Japanese to be taken seriously by Japanese CEOs? 😉 I work in a French company in its NY office but no one says the CEO in Paris should speak English to be taken seriously. Maybe the Anglo-Franco language supremacy will change with time?
