Congratulations to Marie and Gabriel for receiving our PRIDE Practice Awards this nine weeks for being Purposeful and Respectful! Thank you for showing off your PRIDE in all that you do! #pvespride@pvespride
Today, our writers paused to ask, "how am I doing?" with their latest piece using our narrative checklist. I loved hearing them self-assess, read their writing with a critical eye, and set new goals for themselves! @pvespride#pvespride@TCRWP
Thanks to @zoom_us I was able to see some of my students’ sweet faces this morning and hear all that they’ve been up to! I miss them so much! I can’t wait for our next meeting! #pvespride@pvespride
Our students are using box and bullets to organize the main ideas and details found in their animal research and to write sections for their upcoming animal books! I can't wait for them to showcase all that they've learned! @pvespride#pvespride@LucyCalkins@TCRWP
We broke out! 🔐 ❤️ What a fun way to have some Valentine's fun and learn collaboration and perseverance from our favorite instructional technologist today!! @TechTiesThomas
Writers worked together to develop a debatable opinion about our read alouds. Then, they used their texts to find specific evidence and justify why it matters to the topic. I've loved hearing them work collaboratively and use debate language! @pvespride#pvespride
Last week we used new fraction bar manipulatives to model comparing fractions. Some students modeled based off of sentences I gave, while others I challenged to create fractions and then write the comparison sentence based on their models. #differentiation#pvespride@pvespride
These writers developed big opinions about a text and now are working together to find evidence to support their thoughts! #writingworkshop#pvespride@pvespride
Finally, this afternoon, we learned about Hanukkah and how to play dreidel. Students created dreidels, graphed their spins, and then played together! We had a blast today celebrating DeSTEMber! @pvespride@nhughes8799#pvespride
Midday we traveled to Iceland and learned about the Yule Lads who put presents in childrens’ shoes. The students created a shoe out of newspaper that could actually be walked in! If they were successful, I filed their shoes with treats! @pvespride@nhughes8799#pvespride
Today we celebrated DeSTEMber around the world! This morning we “visited“ Mexico. Students learned all about the tradition of the poinsettia, drew a picture, & used their creativity and imagination to create real piñatas with pull strings! @pvespride@nhughes8799#pvespride
We fused holiday fun and fractions today by partitioning and decorating equal parts of sugar cookies! Students then used @Seesaw to take a picture of their cookie and label the fractional parts! Who knew math could be so delicious?!? @pvespride#pvespride#guidedmath
