We must teach our children
To smell the earth,
To taste the rain,
To touch the wind,
To see things grow,
To hear the sun rise
And night fall,
To care.

The Ford government's decision to overhaul the language curriculum without consulting #onted stakeholders shows how little they understand the public education system and value educators.
Making critical curricular decisions without input from educators who are in classrooms delivering the curriculum is irresponsible.
Also, with 157 recommendations in the Right to Read Report, why is the Ford government solely focused on one--a reading screening tool? Because they believe standardized tests are the answer.
Educators know what students really need is adequate investment in resources to support students in classrooms.
International Day of Pink represents authenticity, allyship, and courage. Today we wear pink, as it presents an opportunity to discuss and show allyship by standing in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in its continued fight for equity and acceptance.
Just a reminder that the government providing funding for one educational assistant to run between 6 students with safety needs is not actually “meeting the needs of vulnerable learners”.
At best it’s “putting out fires.”
Kids deserve access to consistent, proactive support.
