On Monday the Homies joined the Amigos to use mirco:bits. Ss coded the micro:bit to sense temperature, light and sound in the classroom. With this information, we brainstormed the best areas in the classroom for Ms. Arnone’s plants to grow @Ms_Arnone @FCLEdu
Last week we: learned about Carroll diagrams with the CoddSquad, encoded/decoded words, collected data for bar graphs, went to Gatineau Park, played Tower Dodgeball, learned how to use Google Read&Write, and more!! The Homies had a busy week of learning! 🍂🍁
Lots of fun things happened this week: we described each other using adjectives, explored Prodigy, visited @MrsMButton’s class to play the students’ arcade games, and made patterned pumpkins! 🍁🍂
Some highlights from this week: working with our clock buddies, guided reading/literacy centers, visiting the LC, guessing the magic number, and exploring the new morning bin activities.
Wishing all of my Homies a wonderful long weekend! 🧡🤎
Truth and Reconciliation Week: We read stories by Indigenous authors, learned about residential schools & Orange Shirt day, did math around the room, played math games, and participated in a STEM challenge to build a paper bridge strong enough to hold erasers. Great work Homies!
Lots of fun had on week2! Enjoyed DPA, worked with the CoddSquad on a Minecraft task, talked about what it means to be a digital samaritan, what scientists look like & the skills they need, and we joined the CoddSquad and Mrs. Button’s class for a fun estimation activity!
So much fun had this first week of school! Released butterflies, played a game to get to know Ms Holban, used tech and tried flex seating for the first time, collaboratively sorted class rules from most to least important, talked about what we can do when we feel stressed & more!
That’s a wrap for the 2022-2023 school year🎉
My AM and PM Homies: I had a blast with you this year. I hope you have a wonderful summer and I can’t wait to see you back in September. Don’t forget, once a homie, always a homie🩷
This morning we conducted an experiment where we had 8 red cubes and 7 blue cubes in a bag. We conducted 3 experiments to see if 5/10 times we could pick a red cube and ALL 3 experiments had the exact same result!
Due to anticipated freezing rain all day, all school buses & school vans are cancelled for today Wednesday April 5, 2023. Schools are open, however parents/guardians are responsible for transportation of students attending open schools at the end of the day.
Since January the AM & PM Homies have been doing multiplication challenges. Many are close to mastering their math facts from 0x0 to 10x10. 6 students have completed all the challenges and a few have decided to challenge themselves to master their math facts to 12x12! Way to go!
Thank you @MsCowan123 for helping us improve our computer skills by teaching us how to use Google Read & Write when reading information on websites. We learned about cool features like voice notes and the prediction tool!
🍀A new month means a new enrichment choice board! This month's activities include measuring cans/jars to find pi, learning about Daylight Savings, designing a leprechaun trap, and more! Remember you can find the Monthly Choice Board on Hapara Homies!
