One of my favorite beginning of the year activities is to read Judy Moody as a read aloud! Then I have the kids complete the All About Me project that Judy does in the book. These are the beautiful results! #thirdgrade#iteachthird
Sometimes when we review our writing in our heads, our brains lead us to see what we *think* we’ve written down. We practiced using whisper phones today to self-assess our narratives!
⭐️Story-focused illustrating⭐️ during read alouds encourages stamina, attention to detail, summarizing, and creativity! I love a good win-win 🙌🏼 These are all about Stone Fox! “Fun fact: Searchlight was born on the same day as Little Willy!” 🥰 #readalouds#studentwork
Hi teachers! To celebrate the upcoming release of our newest graphic novel, I'm giving away 5 signed copies. Retweet to enter. I'll contact winners by DM on September 5. @Scholastic
More giveaways soon. LOTS happening in the I Survived world this year!
Wrapping and decorating a student‘s desk is an easy, cute, and low-prep way to make a child feel special on their birthday right when they arrive in the morning! 🥰🎂🎊 What do you do to celebrate birthdays in your class? #birthday#celebration#thirdgrade#teacherlife
Just 4 of my favorite memories from this year 💕 a new friendship being represented, multicultural night with my girls, our mystery play, and our array city! I’m going to miss this bunch so, so much!!
Yesterday was a whirlwind 🌪️ but one of the highlights was definitely the third annual candy awards!! Not pictured is me falling on my butt in front of everyone and cutting my arm open 😂 last day of school, amirite?
My students had so much fun opening their time capsules today! They made them on August 16 and added things like a string representing their height, a first day of school picture, and their name in cursive! They had so much fun seeing how much they grew in every way 🥰
My birthday isn’t until Saturday but my students have been celebrating it literally all week long 😂 I think they’re getting it mixed up with Teacher’s Appreciation Week (their signs say “Thanks Mrs. Akers”), but hey, I’m definitely feeling the love either way!! 🥰
Yesterday was filled with an INTESE amount of learning, laughter, and love. I am exhausted, but wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️ I am going to miss these sweet students more than they know when they go off to 4TH GRADE in 4 weeks! #multicultural#fieldtrip#nature#thirdgrade
I love these girls with my whole heart and then some! 🥰 This dance just completely sums up the whole night-#multicultural friendship, love, and acceptance. Pretty much the motto of our whole school! ❤️ @apolloD63

I’m so excited for my Ss to make these #shrinkydink#MothersDay gifts this year! This is the first time I’ve ever tried them, but they were so easy and turned out so cute! This was just a tester, but they will be hole-punched to turn into a keychain! Update coming next week 🥰
