End of 2nd q= End of The Great Gatsby novel study. I go home to watch the movie myself and I fall asleep on it. An hour later I wake up to Nick Carraway saying those sweet words: “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” Best Am Lit Novel❤️
@elachat_US A3: Students are stuck in groups often by subjective evaluation - mindset and bias can creep into decision making. Fear of having kids at “frustration” level can cause over-scaffolding and low expectations. Our kids don’t deserve this non precise diagnosis! #elachat
I’m going to try this thing where I plan for Monday on Friday and that way i’m not putting it off til Sunday when I should really be practicing self-care.
I got a compliment from my principal yesterday. He asked me if I’ve done this before & when I asked why he said “cause you’re really good” & honestly at that moment I just wanted to cry cause it took alot of long days and sleepless nights to get here. I owe it all to BSU & TQRP❤️
One day my teach game will be so stepped up that I’ll be able to come in costume like that too. I heard it’s a very engaging practice.

@TeachMrReed My school attire 100% depends on what I’m covering in class on any given day. 180 days of school = 180 different outfits! Doing my part to bring history to life for my students!
You know those pics where the kid goes to school all dolled up and then at the end of the day they look like a tornado chewed them? That’s me all this week 🤷🏾♀️👩🏾🏫
So the plan was to post pics for my first day of 2019-2020 today but the school day went by so fast if you blinked you missed it so we’ll re-up tomorrow and see how this goes 😂
The calm corner might not work out this year guys! My desks are too huge (they’re brand new though) and I have too many (but enough to fit my class). I’m not complaining but I really wanted some type of trauma informed area in my classroom this year. 🙃
