Feeling so excited to teach my fellow colleagues about a recent passion of mine this summer during summer academy! Wouldn’t be able to do it if it weren’t for @ChrisHomiak !!
Something floored me today at the graduation ceremony.
•I teach at the most diverse school in Missouri. The 11th most diverse in the nation.
•When I had to look it up, I also found this. Thanks to whoever picked “anything band related” 🥹

Graduating seniors took a walk down memory lane as they returned to their former middle and elementary schools in their cap and gown. The halls were filled with excitement as they were surrounded by their younger peers and former teachers. More photos: https://t.co/Mkst1oTg4W
My mamá is AMAZING!! She spent her latin Mother’s Day making 50 tacos and salsa for my IB ESS class for our last day with our seniors. We had so much fun eating and talking about advice and memories. I will definitely miss this group of seniors. @NorthtownNews@mitsinessa
We celebrated 55 IB Seniors tonight @NorthtownNews. The night kicked off with dinner by @Cascones and finished with a celebration honoring the dedication of these students and their teachers. Congrats to Mr. Bailey, the Marilyn Durham Excellence in Teaching award winner. #IBNKC
“We are here because an injustice has happened.”
Hundreds of protestors walked to the house where 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot.
Yarl meant to go to a house on NE 115th Terrace to pick up a sibling, but went to 115th Street instead. The resident shot him in the head. @kmbc
I feel truly disgusted. There’s so much disbelief that something like this happened to an innocent boy for the color of his skin. What kind of world do we live in? What kind of people do we live around? Justice for Ralph. How is this not about race and hatred?
Please take a moment to read about Ralph & donate. I pray for his full recovery.
How can anyone feel safe when a black child ringing the wrong doorbell gets shot, twice?
This must never happen, here or anywhere. Our community demands justice for Ralph.

Our kids should be safe in our neighborhoods. Walking. Driving. Carrying a bag of skittles. Knocking on the doors of our neighbors to pick up their siblings. Living their lives.
Had a blast at today’s forced family fun! We had lots of things in common, which helped us be the ACTUAL first place winners 😜 PD days aren’t too bad! @NorthtownNews @MsWalkerNKC
