We did math outside today on the blacktop, adding tens and ones with partners using chalk. Then the kids earned a short playtime on the playground. After playtime they crab walked to pick up all of their chalk pieces! How fun #wb4k

Today was my first day back after being out on maternity leave for 8 weeks. I was having a rough morning leaving my baby at home, but the excitement of the kids when they saw me (and not just the kids in my room!!!) got me amped up for the day!

Also, my kids decorated my door, made me a huge “Welcome Back” sign, one brought me flowers, a parent wrote me a welcome back note, and I got no less than 18,000 hugs today! I’m one lucky lady to have such amazing students and work with such awesome,supportive, and caring people!

Yesterday I went in to surprise & read my students a book after 5+ weeks out of the classroom. When she saw me, one of my students said “Miss B! I was just crying last night because I missed you so much! I’m so happy now!” And that, folks, is #whyiteach #WB4K
